Before You Continue: Revenue Qualification
To provide you with an accurate insurance quote for your petting zoo or animal-related business, we need to confirm your business meets the minimum revenue threshold.
What are Gross Sales (Gross Revenue)?
Gross sales, also known as gross revenue, is the total amount of money your business brings in before subtracting any expenses such as rent, supplies, feed, employee wages, insurance, or taxes. This includes all income from admissions, events, birthday parties, school visits, merchandise, tips, and any other sources related to your business operations.
For example, if you charge $10 per person for admission and serve 1,000 visitors in a year, your gross sales from admissions alone would be $10,000 — regardless of what you spent to operate.
Why $7,500?
The minimum premium for petting zoo and animal industry insurance averages around $3,000 per year. If your gross revenue is below $7,500, the cost of insurance may represent a disproportionately large percentage of your income, and you may not qualify for standard coverage options.
