Homeowners Insurance Sublimits

Sublimits are limitations on coverage for specific items.  Let’s look at an example of sublimits.

  • Jewelry and Fur sublimit – your declarations page of your policy shows that you have $150,000 of coverage for your personal property, but when you read your policy, you find that your coverage for jewelry is limited to only $5000.

There are many things that have special limits on a homeowners, condo-unit owners and renters policies.

Remember, policies are different, and at Stratum Insurance Agency we can help you increase these sublimits or enhance most policies to offer a package of additional coverages.

Let’s look at more items that have sublimits:

  • Business Personal Property – on the premises
  • Business Personal Property – off the premises
  • Fine Arts
  • Firearms
  • Goldware
  • Golf Carts
  • Silverware
  • Trailer
  • Watches
  • Watercraft

This is only a partial list.  We’ll go over this in more detail when we prepare your quote.

If you have a home-based business, it’s important to let us know too.
